Responsible for all aspects of campus grounds maintenance and support for campus activities. This position has been evaluated for compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and is subject to premium pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a payroll week.
Salary/Rate: $16.00-$16.08
Qualifications:
Personal Protective Equipment must be worn when required. A respiratory function test and the ability to use respirators may be required. Stairs and uneven surfaces may be present; Artificial lifts, etc. may or may not be available. The position may require the incumbent to walk outdoors in all types of weather to other buildings or offices located on the campus. The Campus is located in an area that contains numerous hills and slopes and may not always be fully accessible for mobility impaired individuals.

Qualifications:
- Formal Education:
- High school diploma; two-year degree in horticulture preferred
- Experience:
- Two years of experience in landscaping/grounds maintenance
- Additional Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of operation of small and large engines and equipment, and valid driver license. Knowledge of various plants, plant types, and their care. Must be available for on-call, emergencies, nights, weekends, et
- With or without reasonable accommodations the incumbent must be able to read and write and speak the English language at a college level
- Be capable of performing sometimes complex mathematical calculations, statistical calculations and other higher mathematical operations
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of the institution in written and spoken form
- The individual must be able to work independently
- The ability to maintain regular and prompt attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position

- Snow removal
- Operate equipment; fork truck, plow truck, forklift, mowers, weed eaters, chainsaw, backhoe, snow blower
- Stockpiling and application of salt and sand during winter months
- Maintain equipment; change oil, lubricate, minor mechanical repairs
- Prune shrubs and trees
- Maintain all lawn areas; mow, rake, fertilize, seed, aerate
- Maintain and establish all shrub and flower beds; weed, mulch, edge
- Deliver intercampus materials; mail, supplies, furniture
- Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, and stairways; clean, repair, paint, plow, sweep, cold and hot patch
- Paint athletic fields; football, soccer, lacrosse, rugby
- Move heavy equipment and furniture
- Installation of campus signage
- Installation and maintenance of brick pavers
- Assist with excavation and installation of drains
- Assist with setup of all major campus special events, i.e. graduations, convocations, open houses, etc
- Supervise and train work-study and summer help
- Deemed to be Essential Employee during weather emergencies
- Maintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environment
- Safety: Participate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols
- Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned
